Match Results
Chinquapin Schuetzen Event
23 & 24 June, 2023
Dear Fellow Chinquapin-istas,

Greetings!  It looks like the last Friday and Saturday in June each year, Brushy Mtn Club in VA is the place to be if you like your shooting one careful shot at a time.  The weatherman conspired to scare folks away with the threat of rainy weather, and truth to tell, each morning started a little damp, but when it came time to shoot, the sun came out and gave us near perfect weather for a schuetzenfest.  On Friday the winds were cooperative and stayed away and on Saturday there was a little bit of breeze from time to time, but still not enough to keep us from having some good shooting.

Congratulations to first time shooter, 12 year old Bryan Parker and proud papa James.  If we can catch these kids young and infect them with a love of shooting, our game will have a great future!  Bryan joined 6 other shooters on Friday, and some left as others came for Saturday when we had five. I really feel like if there hadn’t have been such a foreboding weather forecast we would have had more shooters.

As usual, the the 22 RF bench match was popular, but the recently added 100 yard CF match proved even more popular.  A few of our shooters followed the advice of Pope Harry ! and “stood up on their hind legs” and shot offhand at various events see results below.

Regards to all,
Charlie Shaeff, Schuetzenmeister
