I need a little help find a book. The subject is the McLaury brothers killed by the Earps. Rather than being focused on the Earps it is about the McLaurys and has a lot of background detail about the economy and politics of the era in the SW, particularly the role of the media and manipulating perceptions. It is really interesting to compare with today. I read this book when I was living near Tucson and would like to give a copy to a friend here in Germany. I think this is the book but I am not sure, can anyone comment?

If your rifle is not in 7.62 and you can't hit what you are aiming at with de-linked machinegun ammo you are a pretender.

Also read "The Last Gunfight" it is the most balanced book I have read on the subject. It goes into the politics.of the reigon and that the idea that the bad blood was started by Ike Clanton to hide the fact that Ike snitched on his Cowboy friends for reward money.  There is no doubt that the story we know today was influenced by Josey Erp when she took control of Wyatt's biography after his death.
The real mystery is what set off the gun battle. There is eye witness testimony from both sides that just before it went off two clicks were heard. it has always been speculated that the clicks were made by Doc cocking the shotgun under his coat. but who knows?
