I’m not pimping for Amoskeag but I’ve known two really smart firearms historians who have worked for them on and off since the early 1990’s. I worked in one first class Gun shop in NH and was always amazed at the knowledge these guys had. But was even more impressed by the ethics and evaluation honesty of this firm. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard bidder/buyers say the gun was in better condition that I thought. That’s the way this company works and pretty much always have. 

They handled a widow with a good size collection some years ago. She was nervous and frightened to let strangers in the house then take them away. After the auction she told me they explained everything about transfer with chain of custody and the sales and when it was done she sent them a bonus check in thanks

I've dealt with them for several years on numerous items and all except one have been better than described. That one was a trapdoor barrelled action with a bad chamber that they had no way of knowing it was bad. They have always packaged items well and shipped promptly after payment. They are a first class outfit and I highly recommend them if you are into firearms and related items.
