Most likely done in the US. Have done one myself.
The barrel is likely older than the action.

I'm sure you are correct there except that the barrel and action could be contemporaneous, Laurie. But if the barrel had been added to the Cadet action in the UK or Germany it would have had reproof marks.

Moody, I see more Austral/Brit markings but nothing looks German to me.
