I couldn't get your links to work. The PDF file opened but I'm not sure what is has to do with the rifle pictured. Assuming it is a copy of a Gove rolling block?

I'd like to see all of the rifle.  Pahleez!

Still has 6 days left, so tough to say it will be cheap at the end.

You dont have a great understanding of Auctions This is not Gun Broker !

I have a fine understanding of how auctions work. If anyone bids over this current price it will go up one bid increment, and if someone bids higher than whatever a previous bidder's high bid is, the amount will jump up one increment higher than the previous bidder's high bid.
So if it's sitting at $2900 and the bidder put in $3500 already, if the next bidder bids $3000 he wont get it, he'll simply bump up the previous bidder over him.
It doesn't matter if the auction starts at a penny, a dollar, or $100, it's going to have bid increments, and it's going to go up to whatever the latest bidder bids to.
It's not that tough to understand, and I've bid on items before and ended up getting them for less than my high bid. But I've also lost by one increment, and it doesn't mean the winner only bid one increment above me. He could have bid $1000 above me, but it's only going one increment.

I’ve watched Gunrunners auctions for several years and also visited his store in Cody. The guns will sell for what they’re worth in the market in the end. It is a very nice gun, but also a reproduction by an excellent gunsmith, not the original.

I agree 100%. The asking price before it went to auction was a bit steep, and what it sells for is what the market thinks it's worth. I'll be shocked if it doesn't go over $3000, and with the buyer's premium that will take it over $3500 even if it's not much over $3000. Cheap is relative, and it's worth whatever someone thinks they want to spend.

That is a cheap price for a rifle of that quality I have 3000 saved and will placed that in the bid Im trying to get some more money but I hope I win 2910 is too cheap!!

WALNUT HILL,

I'm having a hard time understanding why you would be pimping this rifle the way you are if you're serious about buying it.

If I had found this rifle on an auction sight and wanted to bid on it, I surely wouldn't have posted it's sale on this sight. And, I certainly wouldn't say what I was willing to bid on it.

Have you ever heard that you should hold your cards close to your vest? Maybe in this case, you haven't. Undecided

When this gun was on gun broker a couple of months ago
The starting bid was 10,000.00 dollars. We’ll see what it goes for.
I owned a 40/90 ss and it was not a fun cartridge for many reasons.

This whole thing is very much sounding like a shill bidder trying to run up the price on a no reserve auction. Same threads over on DoubleGuns forum. May very well cause it to sell for less than it normally would. Walnut Hill, Discus420,, also has it on Guns International.

I thought that was called Marketing? nest pas ?

A shill bidder is someone that bids in the Auction. I am not allowed to bid in the Auction on this Gun..........   I will ask the Moderator
[/quote]

What happened to your post where you said you would be bidding $3,000.00 and were looking for more money to add to that bid?
