Aside from being strikingly beautiful, Erna Sack (1898 – 1972) was a lyric coloratura soprano, known as the German Nightingale for her high vocal range.  Wowdy-wow-wow, indeed!

When I first saw her picture, it made me think of Leon Redbones version of "Big Time Woman".   And I think she, dressed as she is, would have truly fit in at one of our old time Schuetzenfests.
