Mold ID please.

Anyone familiar with the odd divots on this mold.  Who made the mold? The mold is unmarked.

I saw that one ,I think it was advertised as 
38 caliber. im curious as well.

It turned out to be .309. I was hoping it would be .357-8. It can be lapped and used in my Maynard 32-20. Length is perfect.

Do those dimples mess how the handle slide in the slot? it looks like It  pushed some metal down.

Probably related to the manufacturing process.  Maybe it was held in a centering vise.

Yes, metal is pushed down and that would make for a closer fit. I was thinking the same as Jack and that caused me to think about a maker.

Don't know, but have used a similar method to tighten the fit of a side hammer on the tumbler shaft.

Seems to me I've seen those marks on other bullet molds. I'm sure it was to tighten up the fit to handles.

Did some casting with it and found it casts a 137.7 gr bullet at .315 which just happens to be an almost perfect fit in my Maynard 32-20.
