This 1885 likes 4227 and H- 4198 or IMR 4198 with a 400 gr RCBS FP bullet. Seems to use all the powder w/o filler. If the load is reduced, a small twist of tissue paper helps ignition. Ironically,this 1885 was made in 1887 and has an almost perfect bore. (Black powder is getting scarce hereabouts.)

Also using this same bullet and powder(s) is a 1915 nickel steel bbl 1886 half magazine Winchester in 45-70.
The 33 WCF 86s I have -also like 4198 powder with 200 gr jacketed bullets.
