	A friend bought me a very dirty Remington Model 24 with parts missing. At first, I thought it was hopeless, however I found the missing parts and got it shooting. The model 24 was made for standard velocity ammo only, if you use high speed ammo it'll blow the extractor out the bottom, but regardless, they're really amazing little guns!

	He is probably holding a Remington 24, but I have two of those built in Japan by Miroku for Browning. Superb little rifles. I own two because the wife confiscated the first one that came home for herself….sigh. The second is mine, all mine, but just to be sure I bought a Chinese made copy by Norinco as a beater. Amazingly enough, the Chinese clone accepts all current Japanese Browning parts. Those guys are clever when they want to retro design something.

	Yes, truly great. But, he obviously didn't shoot that 24 much with that coat on because those hot little hulls would have gone straight down those sleeves and they hurt! Childhood memories speaking of shooting my great uncle's squirrel rifle in 22 Short. It's mine now, all mine;-)

	A friend called me one day and ask if I’d take a look at a rifle of his grandfather’s. His grandfather was a farmer so I just naturally figured a cheap, beat up and wore out sears type rifle, you know the type. I said I would and he brought it over. My jaw hit the ground when he pulled out a beautiful little 24 in great shape. Bob

	Thank heavens he invented the Browning single shot rifle that we now know as the Winchester 1885 before he lost all sanity and went on his repeater designs frenzy. He was perty handy during the big war too. Yes, Happy Birthday!

	I was not pulling legs. I was just stating what I taught as a Firearms Safety Instructor for over 25 years to both kids and adults. Finger off the trigger until you are ready to actually shoot Other than that, I greatly admire JM Browning for all he did, invented. beltfed/arnie
