Rodney posts on this forum from time to time so you should be able to find him in the Members (see navigation bar above).

There are indeed two Americas. Simply put, it is not the haves and have nots. The two Americans are in reality divided into those who do and those who don't.

I spoke to Rodney about a month ago, actually it could have been two months ago, but I have what I believe to be an original Winchester casting model for a Helm pattern buttplate, and I want him to use it to make up some aluminum Helm plates. He told me that he was moving, but he'd be back at it again soon.

Arnie I got your pm. As Bob said I have moved to new place and shop. As you may imagine after 37 years at one place I am amazed at how much junk I mean stuff I might use some time that a fellow can accumulate. Getting the new shop set up wiring etc. to answer you question about the pope automatic mold. Tom Rowe gave me his phone number but apparently he’s worse than me about answering the phone. So I took the McLemore mold that I have and made molds from it and had some samples cast building it up where needed. I had them cast in steel as yellow brass was my other choice, which I think is too soft. I have Jason Brewer working on them, making tooling and fixtures. To answer your question about when, IDK. but when we do get them going I will let the ones that spoke up to be on the list know first. Thanks for your interest.

Seems to me that Lemore may still be on this earth.
Would be interesting to learn what type of brass or bronze?
he used, and also what alloy Pope originally used.
Perhaps worth having assayed/analyzed for alloy.
X-Ray Fluoresence can be used to scan for metal compositions.
Not destructive.

Jim McLemore's shop, Sleepy Hills Barrels, in Hebron, Indiana is apparently still open, but Jim himself is presently not making barrels and seems to be on his way to a well-earned retirement.  Still, you can try contacting him through his shop's website.
