I think I've got a half dozen of those bodies and lids! They look like this:

I found a section of chromed sink drain pipe in the hardware store that fit.

Yeah, I wanted to make an extended tall hopper for one of mine once and found it to be a standard thin walled pipe size. 1 1/2" OD x 1 7/16" ID. Can't help you with a cap, I turned mine on a lathe.

I found some chrome plated tubing at a large plumbing supply, and some long brass tubing at a large surplus store in Denver, and some stainless tubing at the same surplus store. the Caps are easy. Small block Chevy brass freeze plugs, at Napa, or most large auto parts stores. I can get the number for the caps if interested. Also a lighter return spring I found useful, available from Ace hardware. Can also post the number if anyone is interested.

Likely Belding and Mull used off the shelf components when possible. No need to manufacture tubing when it’s easily available.  Harrell’s uses standard Nagaline bottles

I would like the part number for the freeze plugs. The lighter spring makes it easier to you use also I take them apart and clean up and use Johnson’s paste wax on all the sliding surfaces. You can even take the spring completely out, that works just return manually.

I lubricate my B&M measure by periodically scribbling heavily on the sliding surfaces with a soft pencil. Good old graphite.

A quick search in McMaster-Carr revealed clear plastic (cellulose/butyrate) 1 1/2" tubing. $20 for a six foot piece. Either make a ceiling-high hopper, or use 6" and have a lifetime backup supply, or give pieces to all your buddies for Christmas next year.

Part number will vary, is often just the size, and there are different depths if interested.

1 5/8” is what you’re looking for.

Hey Moody. Don't holler at me, but I dug around and found a piece of thin wall aluminum tubing 1 1/2" OD 6" long in my scrap, err, treasure pile. PM me and it's yours.
