I thought I was pretty slick folding the page to 8th’s then marking with a template and cutting out with scissors leaving the folded solid edge till last
Works for 30 cal.
Prolly not flash enough with only a tin lid template.
Ha Undecided
Keep them in an old tobacco tin as well
Never could quite get 1 moa.
Consistent enough after a while
Maybe a envelope would work better
Least my bore is real polished now and easy to clean.

Was at Dollar Tree and they had cutting mats and roller cutters for $1.25 each (PNs 308178 and 318042). Works great for one offs to check fit etc. And, the roller has an axle and nut so it can be used on a fixture with ease. For example: setting up a slitter to cut strips to width from a roll of paper.

I made my patch cutter from a piece of brass about 1/16 (.062”) thick stock I cut about 6 at a time using a sharp blade in a box cutter. The paper stock is 8.5 x 11. After pulling 6 sheets from the ‘book’ I stapled the end with three staples to keep the paper from getting separated then cut the patches on a hobby cutting mat. One trick is after you make the pattern roughen up one side with 36 grit sandpaper, this prevents the pattern from sliding about when you hold it down with your finger. I shoot a lot and also in competition and this method is fast and the patches are as accurate as your pattern is.
Cheers Richard

I got mine a Bernina and she darns my socks. When I get a hole in one she says "darn sock" and throws it in the trash!

I bought Paul Matthews book.  Your instructions are easier to follow thanks to photos.  Well done!

Hey Flatlander,

Just get a good office paper cutter.  I cut 10 sheets at a time with mine.

Many years ago I "self-published" a short article about my techniques for cutting paper patches on my website:

Works for me, and has for years.  I hope this helps you.
