FYI.
Bruno's Shooting supply has 8 lb jugs in stock for 210.82.  This powder has been hard to get online for at least 6 months.

For Breech seating 25-35, 28-35, 32-40, 33-47, 38-35 and what I have personally had extreme competitive benchrest success with.
Myself I am already on my 8th. 8lb. jug.

This is also where it is at on the burn rate chart along with the most popular powders also for the same use.

as of this moment only 1 8lb'r left. Thanks for the heads up we have been looking for this for a while. Powdervalley also has some. And is the bee's knee's for .410 skeet.

Like John, I use it for breech seating my 25-20 Win up to 38-55.  In my experience (don't ask) it is safer with an overcharge than 4227 in my 32-40 at least.

OK... right there with SR4759 Smiley

Thanks for the guidance! I've heard good things about it but as ol'Jack Webb used to say... "just the facts M'am!" ... thinking I'd like to try some in the .38-55 Ballard

Thanks,

John, was it 300MP that you determined worked best with magnum primers?

So John,

I think your screen shot cut off the 300MP.
Looking at another burn rate chart I see that it (Alliant 300MP) is (66) right above (faster) than Accurate 5744 (67)

Would you say the 300MP is bulkier than 5744 for the same charge weight?

TIA

RJ

No on bulk and it is a ball powder.
On the chart it is 122 and right next to 4759.

Well, of course you are right..
I don't know why I didn't see it in the first place.
On 'another' burn rate chart it had it at 66 or 67, so that's where I looked, duh.

Appreciate your intel on the cartridges that it works on, thanks.

If I recall, some said it worked better with breach seated projectiles as opposed to fixed...?
Any thoughts on why..

RJ

I have only shot in breech seated competition for 23 years so I don't have any fixed knowledge at all.

Bruno's shows 3 more available as of now. At $210/8lbs is lower than Powdervalley at $245. Seems like more powders are starting show up, what next, more primers?

A couple of months back a clerk at a local store said the Vista Outdoors rep made a statement that they should not expect to see enough primers to have stock on shelves until 2025.

And there is such a shortage (sarcasm) of incoming and outgoing material that they were forced to erect a new warehouse on the Federal Anoka campus this year. Once the pipeline is full and the warehouse is overflowing with loaded rounds ........

I bought an 8 lb jug about a year ago, still unopened because I can’t find LRM primers at a reasonable price. I refuse to pay what the scabs want.

I bought 1000 small rifle primers at what seems to be the new normal online price of $90. Limit 1. With shipping and hazmat it was not much cheaper than the gun show prices.

Just an FYI.

I called Bruno's to as for tracking number since I'd not heard anything.  The nice lady said they are backed up shipping hazmat orders. It's because UPS is only allowed to carry 100lbs of hazmat per truck. She asked for 3 trucks a day to come pick up, but that's not happening. She has about 700 orders to go out. So it could be soon or into January before they can get it all shipped.  I'm in no hurry, so not a big deal. But thought I'd share.

SHIPPING UPDATE

For those of you with powder orders:
Please note that we are limited to 100 pounds of powder per day, per UPS truck, per UPS and DOT regulation.
We are only contracted to get ONE truck per day so most days we can ship only 100 total pounds of powder.
We do request multiple truck pick-ups every day but due to a driver shortage and the holiday season, we often times do not get them.
At this rate and with over 700 orders for powder we are well into January with haz-mat shipping.
Please have patience. We have plenty of powder and will ship your order as fast as we possibly can.
Also, order status on the website will ALWAYS AND FOREVER say “pending” as we do not use that system to process them. This is the most up to date information, we will have NO additional ETA's or updates if you phone in.
Once these orders have been charged to your card and manifested into the UPS system they cannot be changed in any way.
Also, you will receive an email from (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) with your tracking number once the package has actually been picked up.
Thank you!
Merry Christmas and have a safe and healthy new year,
Bruno Shooters Supply

On a side note, new shipment of LabRadar chronographs just arrived!

Received in an email from Brono's

Grafs & Sons has it in stock but it is 256.99.  I ordered it from them before I saw the $210 at Brunos.  Now I will have 16 lbs.  The Grafs did ship quickly FedEx.

Have you tried standard Large Rifle primers...?
If you have what was your experience or
if you have not, what would you expect would happen if you did..?

Yes I have used CCI 210's, BR-2's and Fed 210's with good success.
I just personally prefer the Winchester LRM primers.

Bpjack are you still using this in your 32-40 ?
And if so what might be your own breech seating powder charge and if you might not know what is your average velocity ?

Yes, I am still using it in 3 32-40 high walls.  I load a charge less than yours I believe.  13-13.2 gr that go just over 1400 fps with mostly a 208 gr Darr designed spitzer.
