	This is not a new thing. In the Biblical book of Proverbs, Solomon says, "Worthless, worthless, says the buyer. And he then goes his way boasting". Solomon probably had just been to knife, sword and spear show when he uttered that line.

	the rifle i offered had providence from Provenance but there town had an ordnance against ordinance sew the deal fell threw.

He told us that gramps had it with him when he headed north during the Alaskan Gold Rush. Said he would like to swap it for a S&W M&P 9mm, and when my boss hesitated out of sheer astonishment, this guy pulled a heavy gold ring (also gramps!) off his finger, slammed it on the counter and exclaimed he would toss that in as boot! It was sort of strange to watch a fellow stab himself in the back…..

	Cbashooter, nothing weak about your valuation method. Beyond that it comes down to an individuals level of motivation to the trade. Offers made politely, I don’t find offensive, but I’ve never understood “beat down” tactics leading up to an offer. Those antic’s just make me laugh. I am confident that I have done my best trading by being personable and polite and I’m most apt to be generous with those using that same tact.
