I thought 10X was the maximum power that MVA offered and it's in the A scope. Where did you see a 20X?

Are you talking about the new Malcolm vintage 20x scope by Hi Lux Optics? I've been to the MVA website and haven't seen any 20X scopes.

Couldn't find it on the MVA site, but found it on the Hi-Lux Optics --

Interesting. I doubt it's any better than a Unertl, and it's not a Unertl; but, prices are crazy on old scopes.

Ao3,
For $850 I’d await a Unertl or Lyman. It probably won’t be any cheaper, but it won’t depreciate in value.

Here is a thread from back in March about the Malcolm scope. A couple people bought them, but I don't remember hearing anything back about how they liked them.

two club members bought the 8x Malcolm's and they are back for repairs already. The ocular lens in both wouldn’t allow them to focus.Either the bell or body needed to be longer, they were .5" from clear focus before they ran out of threads.

I have one of the 20X's, stuck it on my Shiloh Sharps LRE .45-100 (2.6" case) and fired about 35 rounds zero and out to 400yds. So far so good. I am waiting to see if it holds up to the .50-140's recoil.

Byron Goff put one through the ringer and wrote up his findings in The Journal earlier this year. I messed around with the scope some and was pretty impressed. Really good glass, the adjustments were crisp with little backlash. The bluing could have been better. I shot some good targets with it.
