Can anyone tell me what the NOE LN expanders are? 25 caliber expanders can be had as LN or regular.

Might be like the RCBS Cowboy Dies? There expander is larger diameter for cast bullet over the regular dies copper bullets......

Without specific knowledge of the NOE give you some basics. Cartridge cases need to be resized after firing . Jacketed bullets most times can be loaded with out neck expanding, bullets do the expansion as they are seated.

Cast are softer and need  to have case necks expanded to fit the bullets that work best your rifle. Potential variation bores and chambers can be several thousands different same named cartridge.

The standard neck expander die is the Lyman “M” with interchangeable plugs to suit most any desired final neck size. Lee has a line of expanders, shorter not highly polished & much cheaper than Lyman’s. Others like CH 4D make Lyman clones. In my “M” plug box can’t tell a Lyman from a CH.  Lee expanders look very much like the NOE.

NOE will probably work fine. Doubt if they are any advantage over others.

NOE's LN plugs are longer, that's all  In some sizes they are too long for small cases, so there is also a "short" variety.  The diameters are no different.

I much prefer the "long" style, since they keep the case in better alignment in the press.  Only "short" one I use is for .32 S&W.

Would the LN be better than the regular rifle length for a 25-20 WCF?

Thanks for the information. Looks like the LN will be my choice.
