I was just looking at a firearms dealer's site and someone snatched a rebarreled Stevens 44 1/2 for $250!

There's a guy on "The Firearms Forum" who just posted he'd won a 44 1/2 in .32-40 with a new barrel on it this morning. Wonder if it's the same gun?
The one he won is a straight grip, with the small Swiss buttplate. Looks like one heck of a deal if it's the one you saw go for $250!

Nah, it was a rebarreled, straight grip 22 with a crescent buttplate. It was still a 44 1/2 action;-)

so what is a good price for a 44 1/2 .22 LR, single trigger,was refinished long ago,with scope blocks?
