.32 Long to me means the formerly ubiquitous rimfire small game round, identical in dimensions to the centerfire .32 Long Colt.  But that round's case is less than an inch, (it uses a heeled bullet), except for the ill-starred ".32 Long Rifle", which fit the same chamber but was still a lot less than 1.5 inches.

Perhaps tell us the make of the rifle and a photo of the barrel marking?

Even the overall length of the .32 Extra Long is only approximately 1.25".  Is the rifle still a rimfire?

My first thought was .32 Ideal, but that case is 1.75", per Nonte in his cartridge conversions handbook. As stated the .32 Ballard Ex Long is 1.2". Curiouser and curiouser.

Groove diameter?

With that length has it been chambered/rechambered for the 32 Federal Magnum?

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Need more info on other dimensions for the brass you have! Just length and .32 caliber wont allow us to identify what you have.

Length is correct for a 357 Maximum case.

There were a few 32 caliber cartridges that had long/short versions using that case or 357/357 max.

Base diameter and rim size would be helpful, headstamp if there is one.

Wasn’t the original 32 Miller a 1.520” case with a straight taper made from .357 Max?

Here is an original .32 Ballard extra long. As a heel bullet cartridge, the chamber length accomodates the full diameter bullet. It seems to be a close match.
