Very interesting... How are the barrels secured?

there is a set screw in the side of the receiver and a corresponding dimple in the barrel threads.
The two barrels in the white are marked B.W. Darr and I'm assuming the one on the receiver is also. I plan to get the original barrel so modified to takedown also

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Hopefully if you have the barrels finished and blued whoever does the work will be careful not to touch the Darr barrel stamps. His barrels are becoming pretty collectible as a modern barrel maker whose work was as good as the old master's work!
Barry told me once he was a big fan of Schoyen's rifling, and did his rifling in Schoyen's style. I have a Darr Rolling Block in .35-40 and comparing the rifling to my Schoyens shows Barry's work to be a perfect match.

I was thinking of Al Springer to do the work.
I know he does rust blue receivers, do you know if he does barrels?
I love his case coloring, it doesn't shout "just redone" like a Turnbull restoration, much more mellow.

Funny how things work, just last month I bought another Darr barreled Pacific in 32-40.

Being stuck in this chair, I have a couple of guns waiting for me at the LGS. Their line is down and I'm worried that they may have been flooded.

Al does it all. He rust blues receivers and barrels, and of course does fantastic color case too, and his prices are very fair. His rust bluing is as good as I've ever seen, and he's done CCH and rust bluing for many rifles I restored.
His turn around and prices are faster, and cheaper if you prep the metal first. Otherwise they get inline behind others. Prepped barrels and receivers usually get back to me in less than 30 days from the date I send them off.

Mr Springer CC'D a DST Hepburn for me a while back, I couldn't be happier with his work. I prepped it and it came back faster than most stuff I buy from Midway or Brownells to just ship.
