From these photos, it looks like it could be. Whether it’s an original Pope or reproduction is also a question.

thanks, don't have the  rifle yet, so these are the auction pics.
My first try to quarterbore, gonna need some reloading supplies and such at some point.

I was the number two bidder on that gun. I thought it was a Pope sight just thought the sight had been reblued with that odd copper color to it.

I don't think it's either a Pope- or Stevens-made sight.  Also, I'm betting the copper-colored part is actually of brass or maybe bronze, neither of which were ever used on period versions.

I can remember some lamebrain at a gun show telling me that a bright purple shotgun on his table, that had been mercilessly polished and hot-blued, was in mint condition. I think what you've got is a polished and blued Stevens, including the rear sight. Tongue

Bob, I'm sure it's redone as they came case colored, but it's an old re-blue and not a hot blue. 
This give me some clue that the sight might be real
Looking in my Old Sights book, it looks like a Pope style.
I've never seen a Stevens sight with that kind of vertical adjustment, usually a inside threaded cylinder on their better sights
So, I think it's a Pope style, (most likely) if not a Pope.
I won this gun now and I'm wondering if I just shouldn't ship it right to Gail and have the cocking trigger and parts installed.
But that would take away some of the fun.

Hot bluing over color cased receivers will turn purple. 
I personally don't see any "brass" on that tang sight. It has an odd coloring, but I don't think that's brass parts. I'm betting once you get it you'll find it's steel that's weird colored from some chemical they used to touch up the bare sight.
As mentioned before, it's a Pope style sight, but who made it will only be known once you've got it.
