Hmmmmmmmmmm...

I shot several thousand rounds thru the 32 MS Miller rifle Dean built me about 30 years or so ago.  Every round had a crinkle foam wad seated against the 10gr of AA9 powder charge we used in the load we settled on at his range.  It worked out to be about 65% loading density.
I had been to the Super Shoot the year before Dean built my rifle, and talked with Dean and Cyle at the Coors match three months later.  The discussion centered around the amazing performance of the 6PPC.  The most accurate loads for it were around 101% loading density.  The 32-40 was about 35%.  When Dean and I figured the 32MS was about 45%.  He asked me what I thought would increase that %-age.  I made a SWAG (Simple Wild Ass Guess) and suggested cutting 1/4-inch off of the Miller.  That came out to 1.270".  It works very well from what I read here.  So well in fact, that ASSRA has sort-of moved it to its' own class. along with the Miller rifle.  I would say "banned", but that has a rather negative connotation.
