	.28-40 Ed? Pretty sure it's a .28-30 Stevens chamber. At least that's what the brass was he got with it. I'd start with using .25-20WCF data on the low side of the manuals. Then work up from there. It's a Hepburn, and will take a fairly robust charge without any issues.
