First of all, and as always, thanks for coming out to support our match. I think we all had a good time in spite of some of the regular shooting frustrations we all seem to experience at a match. I guess it comes down to the often repeated saying of “The shooter who makes the fewest mistakes prevails.” Saturday was a difficult day for shooting. The forecast called for winds of 5 – 10mph, not bad, but I’m pretty sure there were winds which well exceeded 15mph. We had a tough head wind, switching to a quartering wind from 2:00 & 3:00. In many of the targets turned in for score I could see a good deal of horizontal stringing. Once the fog cleared, the first relay on Sunday morning probably proved to be the most favorable of the weekend. There were several good scores which were turned in. Brian Dyrcz shot a 395 on his 200 any sight offhand match, Tom Jones shot a 488 – 10C on his Quarterbore benchrest match, Kurt Preston shot a 969-17C on the 40 shot 100-yard .22 benchrest, Dean Kinzie shot a 931-7C on his .22 100-yard Iron Sight bench match, these are some really nice scores. Lastly, Gerald Klitz won this year’s King match. This beautiful target was a furnished by Brian Dyrcz. Brian explained it was an artful collaboration between he and his daughter. Brian drew the target out, which resembles our new medal, and his daughter did the paint job. What a nice piece to take home.

Our tentative match dates for 2023 are June 3-4, and August 12-13. Also, thanks to both Gerald and Dave Newell for helping to set-up and taking down the range. Below is a rundown of the rest of the match scores.

Yes, some pretty good shooting there!

Some guy named Pope once said something along the lines of winning is not just making good shots, but not making bad ones...

Congrats to all,

Rich
