I have ordered a box of bullets from Bear Creek Supply.
I will trim some brass and load some up.  BCS said it should be next week when I get the bullets.  1ISENOUGH I did print up your notes so I know what to do.
THANKS,
DHB

YOu could open up the chamber to 32-20 CPA that uses true
"32 cal" bullets  , 0.319 etc
Then the 32-20 brass would blow out to allow bullets at groove plus diameter
There are a number of bullets in that diameter range.

I have a cadet that was rechambered to 32-20. I just shortened the brass  a slight amount and use the 32359 and an NOE .321 copy of the 3118 bullet with quite success. It may not work in all 32-20 chambers but it worked in mine.

Re. Grumpy Gumpy's comment about "lazy gunsmiths" and 32-20 chambering.
In late 1950s, Klein's Sporting Goods, Chicago, IL imported
a large quantity of the Cadets:
They sold them as Original
AND
they were also sold after rechambering them to 32-20,
and 32 Win Special
Also, available were rifles that were bored and rechambered to 357 Magnum, and a very few were said to have been bored/chambered into 44 magnum.
As a kid back then, I drooled over the ads for these rifles.

I finally came into one of the 357 Mag rifles some years ago.
Fine rifle, Fine accuracy with 200 gr 35 Rem cast bullets as well as the 162 grain Keith bullet.

Absolutely Arnie 👍
There are quite a few 357/310 here in Oz .
Nothing wrong with the barrel, twist etc in a 310, it just seems that the actuall case size was a problem to some. I had a good ol friend here who bought Cadet barrels when he could find them at a reasonable price, lathe them down to fit a heavy barrel, then build them into a Muzzle loader. Exceptional accuracy. The key,... the right bullet fit.

A cadet rifle is aBSA model 4b. US citizens have a habit of calling any small frame BSA Martini a cadet.
Modle s 6 and 12 were both available is 32-20 calibre with the appropriate nore size. Hence, these and similar posts tend to be confusing.
Model 4b has a groove diameter 0f .321.
When forming brass from 32-20 cases, first check wether your rifle needs the rim thinned down. Some do, some don't. Mine doesn't.

There is a variation in groove and bore diameter based on the manufacturer of the cadet barrel. BSA and Greener are different (I forget which was larger but think it was Greener) despite being built under/for the same Australian contract. FMJ ammunition was issued for the rifles during WW2 out here when they were repurposed for civil defence. There is a bit of e resurgence in our local club in shooting the .310 (Gumpy, Dusty Roads and I are all part of the same club btw) and some remarkable groups are being shot with Black powder. We are also lucky enough that bulk cast projectiles are available from multiple sources out here in Aus land. Smiley

My first single-shot was a Cadet in .32-20.  It was so cute and nice, but shot terribly until I discovered it was a bore of .321, and my .311-.314 bullets were rattling down the barrel.  Once you get a tight bullet, they're good shooters.

Hornady swaged .32 HBWC  shot wonderfully in these.

I got the 310 Cadet bullets from Bear Creek Supply and tried 9.5 gr 2400 & 4227.  I mounted a scope  and shot at 25 yards.  The reason I was at 25 yards was to make sure I was on paper.  The 2400 got me a 1+ inch 6 round group, the 4227 for 6 rounds got me 4 holes cloverleaf.  I have loaded some more up with 4227 and will try when I can.  THANKS FOR THE HELP!

The Aussie respondents are on the money,  when you say it is chambered in 32/20,is it really or does it allow  you to chamber 32/20 ammo, if that is the case it most likely  has a head space problem,  as  310 Cadet cartridges have a quite  thin rim,  whereas 32/20 don't, heeled bullets are in my opinion essential, this is what the rifle was  built,  and chambered for. I still have a  few,  but don't shoot them any more, should  sell them to someone who will shoot them. Enjoy your rifle, with proper ammo.

The rifle chambers 32-20 ammo with out a problem.  It is also marked 32-20 on the flat on top of the barrel just in front of the receiver.
Thanks.

They often shoot 310 ammo loaded will heel  bullets just fine.

If I hear another  millenial use the term "node" or "optimal " at the range I'll scream!!!
