Rereading an article by Randy Wright, in ASSRA vol. 73 no.3 on 32/40 loads with 12.2 & 12.4 grains of A9. Anyone know what the velocities would be? Anyone have similar data using A-9? Any contact info for Mr. Wright please PM.

The old red Accurate Arms manual has schuetzen loads.I think for #9 but I'm not certain.
I can't find my copy or I'd scan it.
Maybe another member here has  copy.

If I hear another  millenial use the term "node" or "optimal " at the range I'll scream!!!

If you are referring to Accurate #9 and breech seating the load I used in my 32--40  was 14.2 grains with an average velocity of 1474 feet per second. Bullet used a 216 grain spitzer, primers Remington 91/2's, alloy 1-20 lead and tin if that somehow might be helpful to you.
Rifle a CPA, Douglas barrel and the twist rate is 15.

Not to drag this thread too far off topic John, but were you really using a .32 bullet that light, or is that a typo?

That indeed was typo it was 216 grains and thank you I will go back and correct it and thanks again.
I also went back and added the rifle, the barrel and the twist rate.

Twenty or so years ago I talked to the factory rep from Accurate (at the NRA meeting) about using Accurate #7 or #9 in 32-40 for Schuetzen loads. He tried to encourage me to use 5744 instead for some reason.  At the time I was still using IMR 4759 and occasionally H 108, and have never seen reason to change in the interim.  I’m told the H 108 and Accurate #9 are virtually identical, and since there is no 108 still on the market, I’ll probably go to #9 if my rather deep supplies of it run out.  As for 4759, I’ve still got a few pounds of it, and what little my 32-40 gets shot these days, so I’ll probably keep shooting it.

At some point time and quite a few years back for reasons unknown there was a manufacturing change and the new AA-9 was no longer the same and it just would not now shoot the same in regards to accuracy. That is when I made the change to the Alliant Power Pro 300-MP and the load data is the as it was for the AA-9, H-108 and 14.2 grains and the average velocity was about the same for all three at 1474 fps. The only difference is the 300MP likes the Winchester Magnum Rifle primers. I have now gone through 64 pounds of the 300MP and I have yet to see any difference from one lot change to the next. I still have the first container that I bought to first test with and that Lot# is 001 as it had just became available.
