Not visible through scope very much but I'm not thrilled to see this on a new purchase.
Ideas on a fix ?

Time for a rebuild by the look of it. On the bright side, the adhesives used for lenses now will see us out for sure. It's not meant to break down like the old balsam gum.

Well I got off the phone with a friend of mine and on his advice I boiled some water and dipped the objective lens in the water after is cooled a bit and let it heat up and the lenses are fixed. Probably should have left it in a little longer as you were still a couple little streaks but I quit while I was ahead.

I had a friend that said you could put the lens on a laboratory hot plate in a vacuum chamber.  I have a suitable hot plate, but I must have misplaced my vacuum chamber.

Wow!  I never would have thought of that and probably would have never considered it, if I had thought of it!!!  Dipping the scope into hot water seems very scary to me!  Glad it worked for you and thanks for sharing.

Regards,
Joe

I’ve got a nice weaver 6x that has a delaminated lense inside it, I might take it out and see if I can fix this, nothing to loose if I kill it.

I was a school-trained 41C20 in the Army(all scopes, binos, telescopes, rangefinders, BC scopes, artillery sights, etc.) That doesn't make me an expert,  but herewith a comment or two. CURDOG is right, the old compound lenses were cemented together with Canadian Balsam. This was done in a little oven resembling a toaster oven. Judging by the scratches on the lens in the second pic it's new-to-you but not a new scope. If it's an expensive scope, you would be best off shipping it to Parsons or somebody, you don't have the wrenches and tools or knowledge to do it any good. If it's a lesser scope, have some fun and see what you can do with it.

Sitting here wondering if this boiling water dip trick would be advantageous for lens that are simply getting foggy. I have a couple scopes like that which are still eminently usable, but.....

If you go on vintage camera sites they fix them on hot plates.
I had another scope that was ruined in other ways and heated the lens with a propane torch (held very far away) and the lens cleared up.as a test I let it keep heating after it cleared up  and the lens cracked.

Feckers are amongst the finest of rifle-scopes.   Well worth professional care.
