In addition to talking with Paul on the phone, I went the shop many times and visited with Paul. Though I never bought a 32-20, Paul said it was  the caliber and showed me his collections of many of his targets shot with a 32-20 and his 32-20 rifle
My used CPA had a strong set trigger so it was the first time I met Paul. He methodically turned my rifle over and worked the set screw. He dry fired the rifle a couple of times and said to me words I’ll never forget …”That should be about to do it” and handed the rifle to me. When my finger got even close to the tigger … the hammer dropped. When I measured it , it was less than an ounce.
I expected the shop to be a glitzy one when I first drove up to it in Dingmans Ferry. Nope, a 2 room working gunsmith’s as I remembered as a kid in my home town gunsmith’s shop. Gail has done some house keeping though
I have many memories of Paul to add to the legend of his rifles that I have with mine … he was and always will be a legend gunsmith of high quality rifles and trained Gail to carry on the CPA legend
RIP Paul.

Sad too hear, we just lost another great ‘Smith, Ron Long who appears to be the fellow in the photo standing in the background in the photo. He is facing to our right and a tree branch just appears touching his fore head.
Condolences to Gail and the family.
