It’s good to have friends!

I was discussing a few firearms that a customer of ours had brought into the shop to sell on consignment. One of the guns was a beautiful 1919 Colt Police Positive Special in .32-20, and I asked him if he had any ammunition to include in the sale. He replied that he had one box, and that he would bring it in a bit later.

Out of the blue I asked if he happened to have any .25-20 ammo on hand, and he told me he thought he had a box of brass, but no need for it. He left to bring back the rounds for the Colt, and upon his return he laid this on the counter. Brand new! When I asked what he wanted for it he told me it was a gift for all the deals I’ve given him over the years.

I explained that .25-20 brass is rare as hens teeth, and getting pretty dear price wise, but he insisted I take it. You have to treat folks right is all I have to say.

Look at that price tag, lol!

Yeah, I had a friend (a "pen pal" in Kansas whom I've never actually met face-to-face) ask me if I still shot R2 Lovells as he remembered seeing me post comments about it. When I replied to the affirmative he asked if I could use some brass. Long story short, a box with around 400 pieces of G&H .22-3000 brass, most of it unfired, showed up a couple weeks later. It seems that he found the stuff in his late father's estate and had no use for it. He wouldn't take a dime for it even though I explained how the stuff was commanding stupid prices. I certainly funneled some goodies his way to keep things on an even keel. Now, with three such rifles to feed that trove is wearing a bit thin.....

Edit: oops, make that four rifles. Forgot about the Krag single shot conversion by Hervey Lovell himself, in .22 Maximum Lovell.

An outstanding conversation friends helping friends has not only been my own personal goal but it has also brought me some of the most personal joy into my own life.
What has also been quite amazing and also never expecting anything in return it has always somehow also showed up.
Not always in regards to material things but more importantly some very outstanding and long term on going friendships.
