Questions on 3 SS rifles found at dealer's

I was just at alocal dealer's and he had 5 SS rifles on consignment.  I am interested in 3 of them and have a few questions to pose to the members of this board.

1. Is a Phoenix, marked 38 ca. serial number #1557.   What 38 caliber could this be?  The breach block flips to the right to expose the chamber for loading.  Rifle is in nice shape and appears to function as it should.  Any information is appreciated.

2. Is a Winchester 1885 SS, ca. is 32-40, serial number #104545.  Nice shape and appears everything functions well.

3. Is a Marlin Ballard SS, 44-40 ca. serial number is # 20920.  In nice shape and every thing appears to function well.

I did not have a bore scope with me, just looked through them and didn't see anything outstanding.
Could anyone give me a price range for these rifles?

Thanks
Ed

It's possible the 38 Phoenix is a 38 Ballard Extra Long in which case 357 Maximum brass can be used (not loaded ammo!). I have seen Phoenix rifles in the $700-$900 range.

I’d be interested in the Phoenix Whitney if you don’t end up buying it.

Thanks oneatatime for your interest in my questions.  I made an offer on the other two rifles, waiting for the dealer to get back to me.

GunBun I sent you a PM.

Oldbee, I didn't mean to scare you off the Phoenix. Mine has been rebarreled to 40-60 Maynard and I have used it for BPCR Silhouette and managed to score a 30 with it first time out. I think the one you were looking at was a late one with the final improvements for the extractor.

You didn't scare me off, I was more curious about the Phoenix than interested in buying it.   The Winchester is the one I am mainly interested in.  The Marlin Ballard I believe is an older one with a cast receiver.  It has a flat top and not the rounded top.
The owner has not come back regarding my offer, he might not be interested!

I have a number 2 Ballard in 44-40 and as long as you are kind to it in your loading, it is fine. It has been rebored and rerifled from the original 38. It is one of the rifles I shoot for Pistol Cartridge Cowboy Silhouette.
