Went to a gun show today and wasn't looking for anything in particular so found this High Wall and decided to get it, reciever was made in 1909 but the gun has been worked over by a fellow name of JE Gebby, its in 22 Hornet which I wasn't sure about as I can't find any ammo for it so not sure yet if its going to stay 22 Hornet, did find some brass on GunBroker so bought a bag of that so guess i'll roll my own and see how i like it. Got a heavy barrel on it but the action is butter smooth. Liked the scope set up on it also.

Nice rifle, scope ring spacing seems awfully close.

scope rings are close, and they were mounted backwards, I"ve fixed it as it was tapped further out for it, so swapped them around.
Not sure what part of my post was considered a joke??? I don't always get peoples humor unless its really sarcastic like mine is!!!

J. E. Gebby worked in the 1930s and later and as a gunsmith built a good number of fine varmint rifles.  Historically, though, he's better known as a cartridge developer - some would say "wildcatter" - his primary claim to fame in that regard being his trademarked ".22 Varminter", later standardized by Remington and others as the ".22-250".  In my book, Chris W has indeed made a very nice buy.

Exactly!

I thought this was a joke post, because I assumed anyone interested in single shot rifles and/or 22 cal centerfires, would know who Gebby was. I assumed he knew and was pulling our leg.
Sorry if I offended anyone's sensibilities. Nice rifle

Any and all joking aside, neat rifle, and I do not have any sensibilities left, so no concern here.

H Donadson in "yours Truly Harvey Donaldson" mentions him often. Not alot of "+ ink" though but may help you date things.
