Reversing a Heilman tang sight but...

Have a Pedersoli 1886 in 45/70  want to go from receiver to tang sight. got a Heilman sight which i have seen mounted on a miroku 1886, but i had to reverse the sight base so the bolt when extended does not smack the ladder--problem is the slope of the ladder is way wrong. Ideas?

Carefully grind a new cam flat on the pivot of the sight. So the sight will have two detent flats, the original, for use when mounted as "originally intended" and a second one that holds at your new position.

contact Hoke sight
have him make a spring with a long slot, and a screw to fit your thread
makes the staff vertical adjustable
did this on a RB with a Browning sight

not a real good picture of the spring, but it should work
the brass block was installed to remove all the forward and backward motion of the staff, the original sight on the Browning 1885 left a lot to be desired, guy sold me this one for 50.00
