Recieved my new volume three of the Sharps books. It does not disappoint. Great photos and one chapter  on the Freund rifles. Now we are looking forward to volume 4 on the Borchardt 1878 Sharps.

Will Hugo get satisfaction in the 4th volume?

Thanks for flipping it around. And I’m sure Hugo will get his time in the sun and volume four.

Anyone else bothered these books are being printed in China?

I just pulled my Rolling block book off the shelf and it to was printed in China (Shanghai).

They are in the process of compiling the information on the Borchardt rifles now. Had a good visit with them about a still intact original rifle I own.

Everything, unless it’s desktop-published or small paperback, seems to be printed in China these days.  It’s why the book costs $90 or so, instead of the $240 or so it would cost if printed here.

There is a “Dark Side,” even to the idea that politicians can stay in office by mandating higher and higher wages for the same (or diminishing) amounts of work.  This is one aspect of that Dark Side, but at least the politicians get to stay in office.

The book has the same fantastic quality of the other two.  The photography is amazing, the text is well-researched, and the very few typos I’ve seen so far are likely the usual battle-to-the-death with Spellcheck programs.

John Dutchers Ballard book was intentially printed in the USA, and  dedicated "To the wise men who conceived and signed our Constitution and Bill of Rights." It can be done, and done right here in the USofA. And reasonably priced, I might add.

I just hung up the phone with Roy about a minute ago.  This is a run of 1200 copies, and over 600 are already sold.

Don't dawdle, or you will miss this one as well as Volume II.

rkba2nd,

it is sad to see the books printed in China.  That said, talk to Tom Rowe sometime and hear the story why.
