One could only hope the overabundance of shooter abilities on this site would be shared more openly on this site.
I truly do Love seeing these amazing targets that are continually being shot! I also wish that more information would also be provided to be able to achieve such remarkable individual results. As well as how these extremely talented individuals have developed such amazing shooting talents themselves. Sometimes there are those that might be to modest to want to share but there are also those who want to learn and should be able to learn from the.very best.

I doubt Bob learned much from the internet but rather by going out and shooting againts the best. You can read about it or go do it.
Competing in matches works best. It's a lot of fun and if you have a problem with someone you can take care of it right there.

Totally agree Joe and there was a time when equipment lists and load data were once being provided.
Unfortunately benchrest setups and techniques and also those for offhand have typically not also been provided.
I haven't seen a detailed equipment and a load data list for quite sometime also being included with the local match scores.

Joe please don't also be so modest yourself !!!!
If one does not share all of their own personal accomplishments like your own and not at all bragging by any means.
Who in the Hell are new guys who want to also be able to succeed as you have done yourself are supposed to actually listen to and who to believe ??
In all honesty most here are now sick and tired of just of having to listen to all of the information that I have tried to share. Only in hopes of helping them to also become extremely successful themselves as well.

Yes, but, listening to to one person continually blowing their own horn can become tedious.

Amen to that brother, nothing I could enjoy more would be a thread of those that shoot 250’s and their thoughts on how to do so, especially the specs on their rifles and loads.

Premod70 me too as I am still eager to learn.
It took me two years to reach my own first personal goal and that was to be able to come into second place for the very first time.
Unfortunately at the time those at the top would not share anything as I believe they just wanted to be there all alone.
After I had reached the same myself I made a personal commitment to help everyone to be able to get there as well
But also when I share my accomplishments it has been viewed as if I am only bragging one myself.
Nothing could be further from the truth if it is not openly shared who would know if they should listen to me or to possibly not.
I have absolutely nothing to prove to anyone else as being truthful as I have been able to reach all of my personal goals and I only want to help others to be able to do the same for themselves.

It has always been just the opposite for me. Fellow shooters shared a lot with me and helped me along on and off the range.
Maybe they could tell I needed all the help I could get!

I like Bobs equipment. The goofy old right angle spotting scope, the ancient Ideal powder measure, the ole mutt Ballard rested on the barrel.  Bob gets a lot done with his old out of date equipment. All sitting on a plywood bench. Classic!

Bob, is that the original bore in that barrel?

Joe, for me the constant ‘bickering’ between J Louis and Frankore helped me more than all the other threads combined. When those two traded ‘insults’ the knowledge flowed and sadly no one else in that level is willing to open their chest of experience to this day.

A fair comparison is Shiloh Sharp’s forum where there is a constant flow of help to those trying to win matches. Shared knowledge helps all is the impression I get from Shiloh whereas the shooters
here that regularly shoot 250’s are tight with giving out the help a new shooter needs to be a competitive shooter.

If I have insulted anyone person that is not my aim rather just my observation of this forum as a whole.

Also thanks to those that do contribute .

While I understand what you are saying, I think you are in the minority.

I largely ignored/ignore those threads and certain posts because it’s simply not worth the effort to sort the swallowed gem passed in the BS piled up.

I also think that applies to many knowledgeable people. Why post only to be told you’re wrong, even if your scores prove your method works?

In attending only a few shoots, I have met enough knowledgeable shooters, who are registered here, that will not log in simply because of the drama by a select few members, to know it’s a big problem.

When there is a prevailing attitude of look how special I am, look at what I’ve accomplished, why don’t the rest of you post your accomplishments so I can tell you what your doing wrong, there is a problem.

The many people that make very helpful small suggestions, get lost in that noise. Many others likely refrain from posting because of it.

Sadly that problem has gone unchecked for so long, the damage may never be repaired.

I will say that I have never had a question go unanswered. It might have been a pm from someone not wanting to play the drama game, short changing the rest of the readers, but the knowledge was freely shared.

Just another opinion.

Premod70 no insults taken here.
There are quite a few very talented and very successful competitive shooters on the site. Those are the ones that the new folks should also be listening to here. If they would only take the time to also share their own information. How would anyone know who these folks actually are if they don't also share their own personal accomplishments. That would not be a pounding of chests by any means but a means to identify who they are and the ones to be listening to and learning from.
Not the computer chair experts who seem to have this ability to teach others how to accomplish what they have never been able to accomplished themselves.
This will probably piss some folks off but I didn't come here to make friends but to do my best to help those here who also want to become successful themselves.
