Any collector interest in British Rook rifles?

I bought a rook rifle from a friend's estate in Germany, with the thought of relining it to K-hornet.
But upon seeing it, its way too nice to do that with. IMO
It's a Stephen Grant (London) in 300 Rook in nice original shape.  Bore good with some wear, 30% case colors, good wood.
Is there any collector interest in these guns?  I have a book on them, that's interesting reading.
Any info appreciated.

Thats interesting, I have been searching for a rifle to hunt small game with and wanted something different that the usual .22. I have been researching rook rifles and .300 is a pretty popular caliber in rook rifles of course. By all means post some pictures! LK

The 300 Rook is a nice varmint rifle. Sure would like to see a photo of your Grant rook. I have a Holland & Holland best rook rifle with a H&H scope that’s serial numbered to the rifle. Over time I was able to find both a mold and brass for it.

I have co-authored two volumes on British Rook Rifles with Wal Winfer. At over 300 pages each they are the definitive reverence. One vol. covers the early types including some percussion and needle rifles; the other is the later models including Gibbs, Fraser, Westley Richards etc. If interested contact me. I have been so busy doing the Stevens Pope books that I have not had time to post the other books I have worked on. The Stevens Pope books will be done by the end of the month and I might have some breathing room. I will sell these books to the forum for $75 each volume plus postage. For further info call me at 276 783 8037 EST. Tom Rowe

These guns are quite collectable, particularly in nice original condition,i would not mess with it.

I had a chance to buy a beautiful Rook at Tulsa a few years back. I believe it was an H&H. Nice overall, 75-80% or more, including case colors. Wish I had grabbed it while I had the chance, but I had loaned my friend some $$ so he could buy a basket case double rifle. It’s one rifle i truly regret not buying.
