I was at the match but unable to shoot due to cataract surgery. I did take a couple of pictures. This is the Hutchison range in February.

That's the right/uphill side of the range. The target frames are downrange in front of a dirt berm with a mountain behind it. The left side of the range is orange groves.

I've had a few bullets ambushed on the way to the target. Grin

Steve Stewart used my 28-35 reamer to chamber his rifle. There are three rifles that were chambered with that reamer in our group and maybe twelve or so rifles in the Modesto Rifle Club group. They all shoot very well off the bench and are pleasant to shoot offhand as well.

The 28-35 is a 25-35 case necked up to .28 caliber, with a slightly shortened neck. 12 twist barrels with a .284 groove diameter were used.

I'll try to answer any other questions you may have. JLouis has posted quite a bit of information on it here on the forum. A search may turn up some of those posts with pictures of some targets.

My 28-35 and one of many that I chambered with Jerry's reamer was what prompted me to move onto my 25-35.
If memory serves me right the ISSA Medals go back to Modesto's ISSA Regional Match. Second in Any sight bench, First in Iron sight bench and the Agg. for both. The 28-35 is an amazingly accurate breech seating cartridge and I believe I finished in the top the two years prior too. Not at all a tribute to myself but just to show how competitive it really is.

Ok, I appreciate the info. It didnt dawn on me that it was a necked up 25/35. I am currently working on an idea that would involve necking up the 25/20SS to 28cal. It would end up being a nearly straight case with high loading density. I think it would make a very nice bench cartridge.

SBoomer when we started out with the 28's. We were looking to find out which one might be actually be the best for Breech Seating Benchrest competition. So one was a 28-30, one a 28-35 and mine was a 357 Max straight tapered to 28. And it the 28 Max. actually turned out to be the absolute worst and for multiple reasons. The 28-35 turned out to be the very best choice by far and also for multiple reasons.
