By chance did you do anything like taking the block out for cleaning or such prior to it no longer working or did it just stop.

I didn't do anything to cause a problem (other than buying another rifle, of course Smiley  ), but I just realized it wasn't locking up properly, and I was just afraid applying more pressure might break the lever.  Now it's "fixed."
