32-40's how many...?

I am reprising the thread about how many 40-65's should one own.

I was lucky enough to purchase the Miller 32-40 Coors Championship rifle from Jim Feren.

A week later, Skalkaho makes me an offer I can't refuse on a HiWall 1 1/4" bull barrel in 32-40.  Just needs wood.

Two days a SS dealer in WA offers me a screaming deal on another Miller Schuetzen rifle.  Yup, it's a 32-40.

Like three awesome Schuetzen rifles in 32-30 is not enough; I found a mint Zischang, in, you guessed it, a .32-40.

I am realizing that unlike heroin addicts, there are ZERO treatment programs for Schuetzen Rifle Collectors.

Someone, please stop me.

Rich

It’s a old Gobid 19 disease and we all have it!

I've got a HiWall with original half round #3 barrel and SST that you need to get too.

I do not buy Calibers. I buy Rifles for Model and condition issues. My preference is M1885s amd Sharps Borchardts. Although I do own a few Ballards, just too nice to pass. FITZ, OLD TUCK. Wink

Come to think of it, I do NOT own a Ballard as of this date.

Of course, the day is not over yet...

Old Tuck, I have two categories: traditional and modern.  Two Millers, two Borchardts, a couple new CPA's, and one HiWall (to date).

Like Covid there are many variants of this disease, mine is 8.15x46r. I don’t believe there is a cure.

yamoon,

yeah, got one of those too.  4570Mike got me in a weak moment.

I just returned from getting the engraved 2bbl/butt stock set.  It is gorgeous, but as others have said, until the color case fades the engraving is difficult to really enjoy.  As soon as I can get another Borchardt action I am going to have it engraved and a French Gray type of finish applied.  CPA offers silver plating as an option, I probably need to talk to Gail about having that done.

It looks like I will end up with five 32-40's.  Pride of the set will be my Zischang Stevens.

Life is very, very good.

Or, maybe six...

Went to the small Homedale, ID gun show today, needed to get out of the house nineteen days after the Appendix surgery.

Gentleman walks in to the table I am babysitting for a friend (lets him go shopping) and asks if I am interested in a Schuetzen HiWall.  Very clean rifle, asking $3500.  So, I bought it.  And yes, it is another 32-40.

I am going to be all right guys.

Woo-Hoo!!

My Zischang arrived at the gun shop about an hour ago.  If I did not know better, I would have sworn it is brand new.  There are no flat diamonds on either the butt stock or forearm. Finish is even and looks new as well.  CCH has faded evenly and now shows the scroll engraving as a highlight.  I enjoy the CCH, but until it fades it almost hides the engraving.

This rifle is now the crown jewel in my small and somewhat eclectic collection.

There are indeed two Americas. Simply put, it is not the haves and have nots. The two Americans are in reality divided into those who do and those who don't.

More matches and records have been won and shot with the 32-40's as has there been more Deer Shot with the 30-30.

If you are asking a QUESTION, then I have 6. Win High Wall, Ballard Schuetzen, CPA, Two Hepburn's and a Remington Rolling Block. The safe is overflowing but that never stopped me before. As for 32 Cal. Molds I have 11.
I have it BAD and there isn't a cure.
