Hard to learn how to make wind calls and learn hold off with so much wind protection - but will still be good for learning bench technique, practicing offhand and refining your bullet load.
Accuracy is also dependent on available light and the shading may be of some problem.
But you have more opportunity to shoot than I do since our shooting range has been shut down due to noise restrictions.

All very good points Dave. Bench technique and load development were my main considerations. I do believe I will take down a few spruces back at the 200yd board. I will also widen the lane with my dozer this summer. Just another of the many things I didn’t get to last fall.

You can't beat hammering hot iron to stay warm on a cold winter day. Forging a new camp axe. It never really gets too cold here in Oz!

Fairly warm in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada today.
Supposed to warm up from -22 C to -12 C this morning.
Unfortunately very windy (37 km./hr. from NW) and drifting snow.
Not sure I want to pound hot steel in the heat of Australia.
I can put on layers of warm clothes but there is only so much you can strip off for the heat of the day (I trust you still use the leather apron & gloves to shield you from the sparks).
