Well, sort-of anyway.

ESTES Rocketry bought the plant and intellectual property.

the are a division of ESTES Industries, in Colorado.  I tried calling a minute ago and got the "leave a message and we'll get back with you" thing.

Well that might be good news.
But it's a long way from sporting powder.

Goex made a surprising amount of fireworks powder before, and rocket motor propellant as well.

I musta launched a dozen or two Estes-powered rockets in the east field until I made the mistake of launching one while Dad was home.  He was sure I'd start a fire.   Shocked

Sure was fun while it lasted.

Way back when and pre Estes, we used powdered zinc and sulphur in our EMT (for those of you younguns who think that means emergency medical technicians, no) rockets. Wonder how that would shoot?

Good move.  I struggled to figure if it was buying or selling.

I had no idea where to post it so that the maximum number of people would see it.

I'm not finding anything but rumors on gun boards about this.

Is there any sort of news release or something that would confirm the rumor?

They returned my call of yesterday this AM.  They are still "sorting out the details RE startup" but are committed to producing all the sporting grades.  Lady said shooters would be their biggest market.

I lost interest in Goex after discovering a source for Swiss that didn't involve buying case lots.  But there surely is a pretty good market in the USA for a "utility-grade" powder for sportsmen and re-enactors, for whom the price and scarcity of the European brands is a significant handicap.   If they develop the Old Eynsford product to be competitive, better yet.
