Glad they reeled you in, nice looking rifle.
I seem to have shaken the hook, Tony had/has one and I've done a real good job of ignoring his sales pitch.

Joe, could you fill in those of us less knowledgeable about that rear sight? I photo would sure be useful to go along with it. You lucky guy!

Joe, that's a really nice Bullard made even better with that Carver sight. Enjoy! Lot's of interesting features on the various Carver sights and that rack & pinion version is a work of art.
I scored a Highwall with the same sight as yours. The seller said it was a Winchester mid-range vernier sight but I knew otherwise & grabbed that rifle as quick as I could. Here's mine.

I noticed also that it has a slot for different mounting scew spacing, which in turn would necessitate adjustable angle of the staff. It would also then keep down cost, and make me wonder also why they were not more popular?

Thank you, all of you for the info and photos of your sights. I had no idea of these- never having seen one before.
I am constantly amazed at the variety of the things that show up in the coffers of the fellows around here. These sights are sure one example- along with Joe's super nice Bulllard.
I'll tip a cup of Hoppe's to you all with my lunch.

Thanks also for the rear sight picture. Neat sight, but nice clean receiver, not in bad way at all, but it's too bad someone drilled and tapped the barrel, unless you'd rather scope it.

I was wondering what the original furniture looked like.
This .40-75 Bullard Single Shot Take Down which has the wood replaced.
Is Joe's Bullard's butt plate original?

Pictures of a Bullard Single Shot Schuetzen Rifle versus what is claimed as a Bullard Single Shot Take Down rifle.
My Take Down Model has an extra screw for that operation.
So Joe's would not be a Take Down (replaceable barrel version) Bullard.

When the pics were around, it looked like it had the take down screw. Also, the breech end of the barrel assembly looked blued, and the receiver case colored. I think the fixed barrel version would have had a case colored receiver top, fabricated as one piece with the rest ofthe receiver?

Gosh! Does that rifle have enough external screws to hold it together?
