I am looking for recommendations for an available tang sight for my No. 2 RRB. It is a 22RF.

The Lyman RA and Marbles R2 are correct period aftermarket sights for a #2, assuming it is factory drilled and tapped. Remington also made a gallery tang sight. Kenn Womack used to make them. I put one on my .22 #2 rifle.

Am I correct that if a No. 2's tang is factory-drilled-and-tapped for a tang sight, it can can have either 1 (gallery) or two (other) holes?  In both cases, is the same size screw used?

To my knowledge, they were either tapped for two tang sight screws or none. Ive not seen or heard of one tapped only for the single screw gallery sight.

Thanks for the info about the Marbles and Lyman tang sights.  The trick is to find an outfit that has them in stock.

Who sells the correct threaded screws for mounting these sights and has them in stock?

Yes they can be a challemge to find. But with some ingenuity, other more common sights can be adapted.

Sam Simmons makes the screws.

This has been discussed here before. The #2 has a concave upper tang contour leaving an unsupported gap between the middle of most sights and the tang itself. Montana Vintage Arms made an adapter for the #2 sights. It is machined to match the tang contour on the bottom and flat on top. It is quite thin and is hardly noticeable when installed. I have used it on several of my #2 rollers along with their #130 tang sight, makes for a nice outfit. The last time I ordered one of the adapters it was $35.00, and I believe the Remington screws were $6.00 each.
