Nice restoration. Sights look original.
Has J. McO. on both sides of the buttstock.
Anyone have any idea who that is?

Spoke to seller, a very nice older gentleman. He was not aware of what the stamping meant. Looks like a very nice rifle.

Very nice. About the same $$ as a new one.

I’ve been considering a C Sharps Hepburn for some time now. Haven’t heard much about them though.  And they aren’t cheap. It’s amazing how much these old Hepburn have gone up in the last few years.

The C. Sharps Hepburn, like the DZ Arms Hepburn is an excellent rifle and a faithful repro of the original. I've used several new parts from both in my original Hepburns. As always, some fitting required on our old guns. The nice thing about purchasing a new Hepburn is you can choose your cartridge, barrel configuration, wood, etc., etc. And, you can really spend as much as you want. Unfortunately, as you said, they are not cheap. But, the workmanship is absolutely tops from both.

I especially like what DanZ has done with his 22RF Hepburn where the block has a detent that springs it back to be perfectly positioned to act as a loading ramp for the next round. Set the round on the block and push into the chamber, unlike the rest of our falling-block single-shot rifles.

yes, it is sad to see how non-shooters are pricing the fine old single shot rifles out of shooters hands.
They move from one brand down to the next one, all because of inflation and no real interest.  It makes a decent hedge against inflation, but those of us who would love to have one really nice shooter/collector are priced out of the market.
