Interesting the beautiful lever in the above photo looks to have a patent pending stamp, wonder who held the patent?

I am doing some on the Pope Jersey City books and I want to include a chapter on Singer as well as Mann and Elliot. All bet one Singer I have seen has been on Hi-walls. Still trying to wrap up the Stevens Pope books.

Here is a Singer Hi-wall with a Schoyen F/M barrel. Not the odd trigger guard and the top quality palm rest.

Was the lever protrusion below the set trigger meant as a place to rest your trigger finger till ready to shoot??

Protrusion? Not sure what you are referring to.

Each digit has a place on the lever. The index finger on the trigger if you have one and the rest line up like little puppies in a row below it. Excellent lever for shooting from the standing position.  Can be rather awkward to use if it interferes with the palm rest.

It almost appears that the piece very close to the tip of the trigger might act as an overtravel stop?

I have also noticed a thin wire adjacent to the trigger that acts as a rest, and to give more control of the trigger finger. Don't recall if it was on a Singer or Bremer ?
