This is the side that is shown on the cover of Grant's first book. Oddly I have 4 Ballards with the same engraving and detail with consecutive serial numbers

Wouldn’t you love to know the story on that one! Somebody had $$. Did you acquire them as a consecutive set or assemble them over time?

If that one's consecutive to Tom Rowe's four, I'm gonna go have a stiff drink!

Tom, if you have 4 that is probably 3 more than one person should be allowed. I have a birthday coming up....

i used to own the gun tom is showing , the cover gun from jg's first book, and let a man talk me out of it,he paid dearly for it(it wasn't tom he's tight). ballard made a group of 6 1/2's and 7a1 extra's in this serial # range. i have seen several and they are all finished to the best degree of work. if you are lucky enough to own a good quality hi condition ballard you will understand why they add 10 years to your life. when you get upset or made go hold your ballard and the world will be at piece. tony<><

I should'a got a Ballard. When I was young I spent all my time holding onto something else. Now, a rifle is a lot more useful to me than the other thing ever was.
And, that sure is a bunch of georgeous rifles. Thanks for showing them to us.
