MVA reticle recommendations?

I posted this on Shiloh forum also but larger audience here,

I am going to get an "A" series 10x and would like to know the pro's/con's of the available options (apparently they do not supply with the aperture style in the "A"). I most likely won't be BPCR'n but just local paper and steel targets out to 400 yds.

My initial thoughts are the centerless mildot for the small occluded center on the target yet having tick marks for Kentucky windage.

Thoughts?

Thank you,
Charles

I have always been a user of a dot reticle. Size depending on use, but it doesn't look as though MVA offers a dot. Surprising.

I have one of the longer MVA scopes with the mil-dot reticle.  It’s very handy in switchy winds, but the thimble adjustments on the B series might be faster to use than the Malcolm type my scope has.  Some people like to hold off, some prefer to set for the wind changes.

I have them in regular mildot and centerless mildot.  I like the centerless one the most.

Agree on the centerless mildot, just my personal preference.

Another centerless mil-dot user. I find I can 'see' more finely (wish I could hold more finely) with the crosshair center and use the windage & elevation mil-dots when holding off. Works best for me.

But, that said, the best shooter of BPCR ever, Mr. Chilson (who holds most all of the our nat'l records) prefers the mid-dot. It is a personal choice. Get whichever works best for you. The reticles are easily changed should you decide to do so.
