Extremely Blessed

I have been so extremely blessed by those who have been involved in my Life. When I first started out shooting this Sport of Schuetzen that I do so dearly Love. Russ Waley, Willis Gregory, Charlie Dell, Jim Borton, Barry Darr and more importantly Robert Fitzgerald / Fitz who doubted that I could not compete with all of the rest. While also shooting off the bench while using a Traditional Rifle. When no one else was willing to share with me what it would take for me to able to reach my own personal goals. Of which I was able to accomplish with their help. I did and that is now going back on some 23+ years now. I just wanted to take the time to say that I cannot thank you all enough and some are now gone. After having a very serious Surgery during that time. Fitz called several times while I was still in hospital and not feeling all that good at the time. He was also the most inspirational in not thinking that I could actually achieve all of those personal goals. His doubt is what helped me to be able to succeed. They were others along the way and if forgot to mention any of them or possibly you I truly do apologize.
Most importantly along that way they taught me how to do the same for everyone and that has really become my real true joy in life. Even more so than any of my own personal accomplishments and I thank them all dearly.

When my wife started attending Schuetzenfests with me, and eventually joining in the competition, she remarked that the people she has met in the rifle shooting sports are the nicest people you could ever want to meet. She is 100% right about that!

I too have been blessed by many who helped me along the way. The best way to show our appreciation is to treat others the same way, help and encourage others, especially the younger folks, so that they can be safe and get the most out of their experience. I never had a chance to return the favor to many who have helped me, but by helping someone else what goes around comes around and the world is a  better place.

Thanks to all who have helped me over the years!

That is a very inspirational post and one that makes me just a tad bit jealous. You are indeed blessed that you were located where so much talent could share your space and their knowledge. I’m sure it was a two way road. As much as I love the history, the characters and methods of this sport I’ve yet to find myself in a position or location to really jump in. So I enjoy vicariously online and by print

JoeS sometimes we do not take the time thank those folks for all of what they have done to help us along our way.
And even more importantly just how much it has actually meant to us and how much we truly do appreciate it.
Thanks to them for helping us we now have the ability to pass it on and to do it in all truthfulness. They same as they have also done for us. And not just based on opinions but by actual long term personal experiences..And to do it the same as them by passing it all on in total honesty.

Very nice indeed Bob and I would only add to help others to do the same. And if they have any personal goals they would like to achieve. To do everything one can to help them achieve each and every one of them.
