59, eastern Iowa. My first single shot was an Ithaca model 49 .22, that my parents bought for me at 13 for painting our garage. It cost $25 brand new. Very accurate for a cheap rifle, of course it is a martini action.

67, eastern Ia, just walked in from hunting. Using a single shot bow Cheesy. Had a good day, played 18, shot three rounds of trap, ran the dog and sat in my tree stand for 3 hours. Saw 26 turkeys, 5 deer, 5 coons, and a coyote! Who could ask for more.

bnice  _  I would bet there is more than one person out there that would ask for more, there always is. Mainly because they don't have a handle on what there is to be had, and what one must do to have it. JMNSHO

We need to recruit a bunch of Single Shot Women,
To liven up the show

I like the way you think, Merkava!  Smiley I tried to liven up the place a while back with the idea of including trophy girls at our match award ceremonies.  Why should those gear head grease monkeys have all the fun? Well they shouldn't.
My idea and post got shot down and deleted by the forum Nazis and the Puritans. (lot of old people on here) So this post won't last long either.

PS:  Hope someone is compiling this so we won't have to do it again in another 10-20 years.

73, have froze my butt up here for too long, ... still hunting remotely and hope that's where they'll find me someday. Single shots, ..... Henry's, Farquharsons, Westleys, and a big couple racks of #1's from .20 to .470 Nitro, and too many double rifles!
No matches or interest up here so it's my personal thing, ...... just don't understand needing more than one shot!

You gotta like the guy in the hat checking out the young ladies assets. Try that then, and you might get slapped, try that now, and you might lose your job.

76, live halfway between Seattle and the Canadian border in the foothills of the Cascades Mountains, misplaced farm boy, like single-shots rifles and double action .45 Colt revolvers. Moved here in 1992 for two years on a project for Boeing, successful and had more projects, retired in 2014.

Before retirement, I shot competition to have a day away from the stress of work. For a few hours, I concentrated so I forgot work and all else. Now I shoot matches for the enjoyment and the challenge. My hunting passion is prairie dogs and coyotes. When I lived in Illinois, it was ground squirrels and coyotes.

I am certainly pleased with the heartfelt response of so many members. Pretty soon it will be 60 years of shooting that I will have under my belt. We need to keep bringing in the new blood. I'd be real proud to know we have women, young gals, anyone wanting to carry
On our great tradition. As long as we own rifles, we will have a vote.
If any of you are wondering who taught me to properly, safely, and
passionately shoot, it was my Grandmother.

76. Southern Illinois about 25 miles East of St. Louis. Gave up hunting a few years back for several reasons. The gentleman who sold my dad the family farm gave me a well worn Stevens Crack Shot when I was 10 or 12. It was the basis for a collection that I will never be done with. Sold the family farm last year and haven't gotten around to finding a place to shoot yet.
