85  mattawa wa  make my own rifles

Mattawa! I remember Mattawa. We rode in there one day and took over the town. Drank up at the soda pop ate all the chips and raped all the girls we could find.  Two were cousins of mine, Sandy and Shelly, only two white girls in town.
Them were the days!

I'm not that old and neither is Mattawa. We had motorsicles. Early 1970s.

I remember now, you were there too, Pat.

I will turn 71 on Tuesday. Here is a photograph of me with my first single shot in 1955 or 56. Just outside a little town and northern California called Forest Hill. Built my first muzzleloader in 1971. Bought my first lathe in 1980 and been working on single shots ever cents.

68 years old. 64 of those years I’ve lived in Northern Wisconsin. Spent 4 years away for Uncle Sam. Grew up hunting and shooting. Competitive shooter since the early Seventies. Have found the perfect competitive shooting fit for me in BPTR. Currently enjoying paper patching for three rifles.

62, Into old single shots since introduced to the affliction by my dearest friend and mentor in the early 80's. Particular to Ballard's and Sharp's (shooters not closet Queens). Wrote on a rifling technique to correct some misinformation going around at the time. Hoping someday to have the ambition to write the rest of the story.

I feel like a spring chicken at only 53.  I split my time between SW Missouri and Maryland where Mrs. GunBum lives.

I would have never thought there is still so many with the same type of interests.
If we happened to live closer it would make for a very good Match and even more importantly being able to be visiting with each other!
