Single Shot Demographics

Unseasonably warmer weather, and a lot of rain has put the kabosh
on deer hunting these last few weeks.
Men who appreciate and revere single shot rifles have their particular reasons. Just pondering a few things.
Average age of all the members of ASSRA.
And a demographic breakdown of where we all live.
At this point in my life, I'm not going to get soaked and drown a perfectly good rifle chasing a deer.
Just ruminating these things. Let's see where this goes.

We used to have a members map. It went missing and it's still missing and it's missed.

Well, I turn handles and dials, levers and change gears to thread.
So, it looks like we need one of those wiz kid computer gurus to whip up a turbo algorithm and solve this dilemma of the lost ASSRA
Members map. Any takers?

I loved the members map. It was fun to look see where everyone was located all over the globe.

68, central Maryland where living by the rifle ain't easy!

I've become a fair weather hunter too, and primarily use a fairly new Ruger 1A in a decidedly non-ASSRA configuration: 6.5x55 and jacketed bullets.

Almost 70 in Eastern New Mexico (displaced Texan).

Nearing my final hunt. But the range is always fun, too!

Brand new Henry Single Shot 12 gauge rifled slug gun, Leupold 3-9
and not one box of slugs to be found.
Looks like I'll not be eating venison chili this winter.
What a long very strange trip this has been.

Not an ASSRA member but was 20 years ago.  Been on this forum  for a while though.

anyway,77 and in Salmon, Idaho.   Quit hunting when the motorized snipers became the new way of hunting.   Been shooting single shots since 1961 when I got my first Remington in 43 Spanish, factory reconditioned for only $14.95 from Ye Olde Hunter/Potomac Arms.  My shooting is offhand or sitting (the real kind, not bench rest).

Yes sir George, the Times are a Changing! Wrong damn way on the
evolutionary scale. Motorized and lazy. Not my way, not our way, but
fueled by an ATV political action industry demon.
The ATV industry drives a billion dollar market.
It's long past the days when you made real sure you had a compass in
your pocket.  Travesty of many acts.

I am 68 and live in Alamogordo, NM, work part-time at the Otero County shooting range. Handy as that is, I don't shoot that often -- and must confess the 11-pound .50-70 rolling block feels much heavier than it weighs.
