Hey guys I am just getting in to the single shot game all though I have been shooting for a long time just not in the single shot game so please excuse any stupid questions. I just bought a BSA Martini
.22 LR international MiKII what are Tube sights and how do they work ? The gun has what looks like a globe type front sight and what looks like a normal scope with Unertl type scope bases. I don’t know what kind it is because I got the gun from gun broker and it hasn’t been delivered. Thanks guys

A tube sight has no glass.  Works like iron sights with circular rear aperture and a font insert of your choice.  The Unertl mounts make precise adjustments easy.

You bought the one with the broken rear ring, correct? Your first order of business is to replace that ring

Westerner  I believe he was unnecessarily describing himself, being a newbie, and asking a lot of questions. Welcome aboard Gater, it seems bpjack is helping out with your questions.

I was going to comment on the value of a good tube sight but if the rear mount is broken, it may be better to part it out and buy a scope.  You can buy an adapter to use a conventional scope that mounts on the two receiver holes for the rear peep sight rail.  Not cheap but less than a Lyman or Unertl scope.
